In any large community like the Navy, law enforcement and security are essential. Whether executing crime prevention programs or carrying out anti-terrorism measures, the Sailors working as the Navy’s military police are equipped to handle any situation. Provide security on ships, at bases and at military installations all around the world. Train to become a K9 dog handler and even protect and escort shipboard weapons in the armory. The call to serve and protect starts by defending our own.

Job Description

Master-At-Arms (MA) individually or as part of a force, conduct Force Protection (FP) operations in order to defeat threats at-sea, on-shore, and in expeditionary environments. Force Protection (FP) is a program that is comprised of three pillars: Antiterrorism (AT), physical security, and law enforcement. Specifically, the MA will conduct scalable Force Protection (FP) and security providing layered defense for designated assets and critical infrastructure throughout the world. Additionally, MA will operate in an integrated sea/coastal/landward security environment providing mobile and fixed defensive operations while organizing and training their personnel in Antiterrorism (AT), physical security, law enforcement, and weapons proficiency. These tasks are in support of Commanders performing base defense, expeditionary/combat operations, strategic asset security, law enforcement, corrections, and special events and operations with other services, host nation partners, and civil authorities
